Almost all starters are left at ^V and survive just fine. My Guess is as Glennster's That your starter drive is jambed. Do as He indicates. If it fixes it, it is best to get a new Starter drive (clutch type) from CaseIH. The part is a replacement for that problem and seems to cure it. It does look different. Good luck, and post back the outcomes. JimN
