Hi Daniel, I have no experience with 2400 but lots of experience with AG 454 and its larger brothers 684 and 3230. Is it gas or 3 cyl D179 Diesel? Are you sure loader and hoe run off the same hydraulic pump as power steering, brakes and 3pt hitch? Is there another hydraulic pump for loader and hoe? You are correct the canister under your left foot is for the filter for hydraulic/transmission fluid. It is mounted on MCV valve and hydraulic pump is behind MCV valve inside the transmission case and is powered from PTO shaft. If this is the one that powers the loader and hoe and you have to purchase a new one, check and see if the the upgraded 17 GPM hydraulic pump will fit in the 2400. My brother transferred his loader from a 495 (same as 454) to 3230 and 3230 has 17 GPM pump and has improved the loader lifting speeds considerably.
