Gene,
I had similar problems with a couple of my tractors. On the M, I finally got the carb idle and high speed adjustments set properly and still was having the problem. I switched from D17Y Champions to D21Y Champions and the problem ceased. I don't work the M very hard and that contributes to the problem, but going up two heat ranges seemed to fix it. If the tractor has resistor type plug wires, replace them with copper core wires. that can also cause a weak spark. Phil
