You're definitely going to have to split the tractor to get at the flywheel itself. The clutch will come out through the belly cavity, and it really isn't all that bad.
1. Remove the belly pump if so equipped.
2. Remove the four coupler bolts for the transmission shaft.
3. Remove the two bolts clamping the throwout bearing fork to the shaft. Catch the thick washers that key into the shaft.
4. Unhook the throwout bearing return spring.
5. Unhook the clutch linkage on the outside.
6. Pull the shaft out the side of the tractor.
7. Gradually remove each of the 6 bolts holding the pressure plate to the flywheel, a little at a time, all the way around.
8. Wiggle, twist, and cuss to get the transmission shaft out of the clutch plate. It's a tight fit to get the two halves of the coupler past each other.
9. If the pressure plate and clutch don't fall out and hit you on the head, finesse them out.
