Like someone else said " I'm not sure what a 23 blower is." Your question refers to a 23" silo blower. Is it actually 23 inches in diameter or a model " 23 " of some brand ? Many years ago ,we used an H as PTO power for a 6 paddle ,56 inch diameter blower filling 40 and 50 feet tall silos through 9 inch pipe. It did it--- VERY slowly. Used a 504 for a few years, then a 756 then an 856. Each one faster than the one it replaced. I don't think HP and silo height have any correlation. As long as PTO rpm is held constant at full speed, the silage will go through the pipe whether it goes 30 feet or 60 feet or more. What does matter is the rate at which it is unloaded into the blower. With a small tractor, increasing the rate of unloading into the blower loads the tractor more and more causing the RPM to decrease which slows the speed of the stream of silage going up the pipe. If you want fast unloading you had better have the hp there to keep the PTO turning at full speed . You can use the H and it will do the job but it will take twice as long to do it as it will a 60 hp tractor and three times as long as a 90 hp tractor.
