Another thought: It is my understanding that IHC offered foot brakes on very late-model F-20s. Were they standard then, or an option? The IHC pedals I have seen have been cast. There were some aftermarket suppliers who offered foot brake add-ons, but they look different from the IHC type. Some, at least, look like they were welded up. IHC put a variable governor on the F-20 at some point--about 1937, I think. The serial number for the change is available in the parts book, but I don't have access to that right now. Aftermarket suppliers jumped in with variable governor kits. I have seen a couple in old catalogs from the 40s that show variable governor kits (like the parts book, "I know they're somewhere, but I can't lay my hands on them right now"; I need a secretary, I guess). Again, the ones I have seen have different hookups and levers than the IHC version, which is extremely neat-looking compared to the aftermarket types, which often have a kind of Rube Goldberg look to their control rods and levers.
