After using ethanol for about 30 years here in Minnesota, your carb is "gummed" up because the gas tank is "gummy". Ethanol cleans your fuel system of all the old stuff that has accumulated in the last 50+ years or so. After a couple tanks of fresh ethanol blended fuel and a carb cleaning, your tractor will be fine. I have operated my 1937 BN John Deere on E-85 and it worked fine. A little carb re-adjustment and away we go. Start on gas & switch over to E-85 just like the I used to do when using distillate in the big tank back in the 50's.
