The issue is not so much speed, but the TA allows the tractor to be driven forward by the action of the tiller. If it has no TA, it probably does go too fast in 1st. Many people have no problem doing several increasingly deep passes, but it is a decision to make. I have also thought of putting a pair of sweeps in front of the tiller (drawbar mounted) that would provide forward resistance? JimN
