The antifreeze with help with minimizing the corrosion inside your system. Plain water will cause more corrision than with antifreeze. Draining the block and leaving it bare will accelerate corrision even more. Most of these old girls have enough blocked passages after 50-60 years of abuse. Even if I kept my tractors in a heated building I wouldn't think of running them with straight water. Just my $0.02 worth.
