Mike when I read all the threads here I had a thought. If fuel does'nt matter and you just want a nostalgic. Put regular gas in it, disable the starter and crank it with the hand crank. That usually tends to calm a nostalgia craving. The reason we used distilate way back when was the price difference. Gasoline was 20-35 cent per gallon and distilate was 8-10 cent. Like jakee said, it runs through past the piston rings and ruins the oil. Like they all said, it won't run worth a flip on distillate fuel. If nostalgia is all you want, I think you'll be happier to run gas in the tractor and do your cooking on a wood stove. If you're planning on parades and get together ordeals, the other folks there don't want to smell these distilate or home brewed fuels burning in their gatherings..
