A couple of cents worth on the Ford question. I've been "red" for years (I'm not talkin' politics, I'm talkin' tractors). Always wanted a Cub and belly mower to cut about 8 acres of hay or weeds or whatever you want to call it that my wife and I like to keep down so we can see the pretty hills out in front. Cubs are fairly scarce, AND fairly expensive. A neighbor had a Ford 1100 (also Shibura or however it's spelled) with a nice 3-point mower. Bought it at what I thought was a fair price. Well, I'm not wild about 2 cylinders at slow speeds (uneven firing patterns make for some vibration at idle), but the tractor is a delight to drive--agile and easy to steer, good brakes. Ten speeds forward gives you all kinds of ground speeds for mowing or maneuvering, AND the 3-point hitch is worth its weight in gold. Build quality looks great. A Cub is a charmer, in a different way, but a lot more limited, in my view, with only 3 speeds. Don't know much about their hydraulics or hitches, unfortunately. Still lookin' for one, though. Trouble is, my wife thinks I'm having enough fun with this one. Maybe I can find something wrong with the Ford and "have to" sell it!
