I worked on IH trucks and tractors in the mid 60s and if they came from the factory with propane it was not advisable to go to gas with those engines because they have different pistons in them than would have come in gas burners. The propane is less volitle that gas and if you convert to gas the higher compression will cause pre-ignition or detonation and can melt the top out of the pistons unless high octane fuel is used and the ignition timing is delayed drastically.
