Hi, seems like the price is high. These tractors are going for generally $5-$8k unrestored. I've seen a few sell for $8-$10k for an average restoration. Professional restoration fetches much more...maybe $12k or more. There is one listed for $19k for several months on another website, so that seems outrageous and therefore no sale. Regardless, as the previous post said, these tractors are a hot commodity. But I have no regrets owning one..great HP and one of the nicest looking IH made, IMO.
Much of the value depends on the quality of the restoration and the origionality of the parts on the tractor. Every 12 that I've come across has the dual PTO, although many don't have a rack of weights which are priced around .75 cents+ a pound.
I guess I'd be concerned if the fire did any damage to the orings, turbo, etc., which can be pricy to fix. Check and see if the turbo is Solar..that is origional and getting very difficult to find.
Frankly, your taking a chance being the 12 was in a fire, but just get ready to spend some more money when you get it home. Can you let me know the serial number please? thx Paul

Experimentation, from the most complex assembly to the most simple and mundane component, is as an integral a part of any farm tractor's development
