I have a Super A. They are great little tractors for garden work. One comment I've heard may times is that the "Super A is geared better, the 140 is too fast". I think what happen is IH turned up the RPM's on the motor to make more HP, but didn't change the gearing so the 140's go a little faster. I have never worked a 140, so I don't know for sure. Don't forget the 100 and 130 either, there all the same basic tractor. The most limited one is the Super A-1, not many produced in 1954, basically a 100 with a Super A grill.

Today's Featured Article - Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
