I can't tell you anything about removing it, but I can tell you if you drop it in road gear once on steel you won't be tempted to do it again! I uaually leave them on just in case I want to switch back to rubber. There are f20's flowing into the scrapyards right now and you can buy road gears off of them for the price of iron by the pound, so I don't see any reason to pay much for them. I must admit that I am not that fond of them, unless you are moving from farm to farm or haying a lot or going on tractor drives, they aren't really necessary.
