I'm a younger guy and do use my myspace profile pretty regularly for getting friends together and going out and whatnot. I have to say though if I were a parent I would not let my child use the site. It is too easy for some random person to contact you and have absolutely no truth to themselves at all. Unfortunately most kids would not recognize the deceit and would probably be flattered by the attention. The other problem there is that most younger people think of it as a popularity contest by having the most friends, which lends itself to allowing random people to view whatever information or pictures your child may have posted. Its a good idea for a social networking site, but doesn't fit well into protecting youth from making bad decisions. Granted, its not myspaces job to protect every 14 yr old from the 50 yr olds, but things could be better.
