On an F-20, if it is the original F-20 top shaft, the end is splined from the factory. The bearing cap is deeper to cover the splined section. On my F-20 road box, there is a splined collar that slips over shaft splines, and the moving gear slides on this collar. On a Regular, the end of the top shaft is threaded for a nut to hold the bearings in. For a road box here, you either need a splined shaft, or a splined adapter that threads onto the end of the shaft. With my Regular's road box, I got the replacement upper shaft, but I suppose an F-20 shaft will work also.
If you are going back to the non-road box style, you will need the upper bearing cover and the lower bearing cover that has the packing seal for the input shaft yoke. Email me for photos of both styles, and what is inside the units.
