I surprised that no one has mentioned it yet, but maybe I'm the oldest guy who posts on this board. Most of you are right about smoke, less power, etc, from distillate, but please notice the tractors manufactured to run on it were made mostly in the 40's, and those who can, will recall a major event going on in the world about that time. Gas was being used for military purposes and it was considered patriotic, even if you could get the gas, to use distillate and leave the gas for the boys who needed it most. I encourage you, Mike, to follow your instincts and restore your tractor to original if that's your thing. I wouldn't want to do any heavy work with it but I, for one, would enjoy seeing an old H running on distillate again, smoke, smell, and all.
