Several of the IH tractors have a solid plug in the hydraulic system, (no vent). Though strange in some ways, it keeps the oil much cleaner and free from water contamination. If there is a small leak into the system on the suction side only when operating, the pressure will build up in the resivoir until equalization happend with the leak. The fact that it did not leak down is a bit suprizing, but I believe it. This tells me that the shaft and pump shaft seals are great. I would look for suction side leaks for a bit, then probable ignore it and relieve pressure at the fill plug before breaking into the system in the future. JimN
