I had the post for the squeaking gear shift on an H. Thanks to the info here I got it out. The pin was quite worn. I made a new one by cutting the threads off from a 7/16 bolt. Looks like it will work ok. I checked NAPA for the two caps that hold it in. Didn't have them. Went to O'Riely's. Yea! They had 5/8 freeze plugs that are a perfect match. I bought extras. This makes it so easy. Anyone who's not cleaned and greased their's should do it before it get's squeaking and worn.
