Distillate manifold replacement

There's a good discussion about using distillate fuel 3 or 4 pages back which got me to looking at the "new" 44 H I recently bought (my first one). It's not running now and it appears to be set up with the original distillate equipment...carb, manifold, two tanks. The small tank has been disconnected and the guy I bought it from said it was run on gasoline.

The manifold is shot, broken where the exhaust pipe bolts on and of course the heat shutter is frozen up. My question is this - will a gasoline manifold bolt on the distillate carb and work OK? Or should I buy a replacement distillate manifold and if I do is there a problem with continuing to use gasoline?

Any help appreciated.
