Thanks John. The Cat is a D6B 44a that was converted by Clewiston Motor Company and made for US Sugar Corp in Clewiston,FL. There were about 100 - 150 made starting in the 1950's with D6 9U's and ending around 1964 with the 24V start D6B's. They were used in sugar cane operations. Ringling Brothers circus had also ordered one from them to use in unloading railcars and moving circus wagons. I grew up in Baraboo, WI were Circus World Museum is located and displays the old Ringling wheeled D6 in their musuem. Always thought it was a rare and neat machine. Couple years ago one came up for sale on ebay and I got it. Here are some links to previous discussions. Would like to find out more about the one your uncle sold.
