New poster here with a couple questions on my old tractor. It's a 1962 B414 Gas w/BD154 engine. We used it prior to a recent move to mow and bale a little hay and key the riding arena in shape. I now live in a much snowier area and have put about 30+ hours on this month just keeping the driveway open.
A couple of questions for you guys: 1) In moderate temps (20-32F) I notice that the bottom of the carb gets frosty or totally covered in ice sometimes. I have also notice the inside of the carb ices at times. Is this normal? Is there anything that can be done to prevent it?
2) I finally located a new distributor cap and rotor. I would also like to change the plug wires, but they seem to be basically non-existent at this time. The cap has screw-on terminals, not slip on. Can I just buy a set of generic wires, cut the boots off and make my own screw-on ends with screw caps that come with the distributor cap?
