Hey Jon!Ive seen people have trouble with the six volt system.Ive seen people have trouble with twelve volt systems, but Ive sen very few people have trouble with an alternator system.Six volt systems were good for their time, but with the newer technology,Id go with the 12 volt alternator system if you plan on working the tractor. If your going for the original look,go with the six volt, but be reafdy for the headaches that come with it.I have an I-4 that I wanted the original lokk so I had the generator reworked for 12 volt and if folks dont look too close they think its a 6 volt system.Six volt batteries are kinda hard to come by here in SC.
