I have a couple of non-running farmall m tractors for sale near my home and want to inspect then make offers. I dont know the serials of either but one does have a 3point hitch.
Can someone run down a list of common inspection items. Here's my list:
obvious cracks in cases, block, heads is the motor locked (look in the sparkplug holes?) water/oil in the transmission/engine cases sheet metal all there major engine parts all there tire condition, particularly the rear clutch and brake linkages work (what do I look for ? radiator (what do I look for ?) pto (what do I look for ?) lights & switch axels/rims (what do I look for ?) carb/air filter (what do I look for ?) fuel tank/bowl/lines (what do I look for ?) electrical conversions
other ?
What are the big issues to aviod if the asking prices are north of $1200.
