Thanks, guys. I talked it over with a couple guys at work today and pretty much the same thing. I got some radiator flush on teh way home this afternoon and put it in then cranked up and ran it for a while. I'll probably let it sit overnight then crank up again tomorrow, getting it warm enough to allow for some flow. The distributor is a very plasuible idea. At some point in the past a previous owner had "repaired" the broken governor spring by shortening it; there's no telling what else was done to get it to run "right." So far, it is OK other than a little sputtering a low idle. That tends to go away at higher speeds and under load. We'll keep at this thing and get 'er right. Thanks again.
