Does anyone know if IH stamped the connecting rod caps on M Farmalls with positon numbers during or prior to factory assembly?
I expected to see the caps stamped 1 through 4 on our 1950 M as the previous owner told me that it had been rebuilt with M&W parts to to SM specs. I just R&R the pan on our '46 M dual fuel X-5 (4" Cylinders) for inspection too and it also had the rod caps stamped with corresponding position numbers.
My friend's dad bought the '46 used but he didn't think it had ever been rebuilt. Just curious if the '46 was rebuilt or torn down too. Cheers Don
