well, it needs to be rebushed anyway. but between the pertronix and new plugs, cap & rotor there has been no improvement. pretty sure it's fuel. rant: new needle and seat, carb passages poked and bowl gasket, float adjusted, etc. the frequented gas station changed brands and everything from lawnmowers, 4 wheeler, and tractors is having fuel problems of some sort. if you dump the sediment bowl out it will refill and immediately separate into a clear liquid on top and yellow liquid on bottom, with some suspended solids floating around until they settle. sounds a little like it did when the valves were burnt on one cylinder, but without the whistling. seems to have power except it sounds like a deere when you open up the throttle til it catches up, still a slight miss. once in awhile will starve for fuel and die, but never when i'm operating it. tappets are a little loose too, with the colder weather sounds like a JD R diesel, not so clicky but more like diesel knock. problems started when someone siphoned fuel out and it ran out while operating. frustrating when your efforts are for nothing.
