kirk, my advice here is that you should spend some time and get the W6 running before offering to trade it on a 400. A non-running W6 is worth its weight in scrap, basically. A 400 in any sort of running condition is worth way more.
The W6 would have to be cherry to trade even-up for a 400 in average condition. It's just not worth as much.
The fact that you can't get it to run looks very BAD to a prospective trader too, especially since you express confidence in your ability to get a 400 to run. The engine design for both tractors is essentially the same, and the same techniques work on both engines. In other words, if you can get a 400 to run, you can get that W6 running, unless the engine is junk. Nobody in their right mind will trade a newer, running tractor for an older, non-running tractor with a possibly junked engine...
