Just looked at an IH 424. Everything appears to be in nice running order. Relatively speaking its in very good condition.
There is one condition to this statement. The engine oil is kinda milky. The upper exhaust manifold had a crack/hole in it, which has been repaired with hightemp putty or something. There are no other apparent cracks/welds in the block or anything of the sort.
Why is the oil milky?(water yes...but why?)
Could moisture have entered through the cracked manifold and if so is a good flush and new oil an easy solution?
What other issues might be causing this milky engine oil?
