Top support is 2.25 inches thick. Anything thicker might cause a problem of clearance for relief line. Pinch bolt also fits in groove in side of shaft making positioning & timing somewhat critical. Someone told me you could turn shaft around to change how splines mate but you would have to cut a new groove for pinch bolt if you did this. Not as simple as it sounds and doesn't truly address the wear issue. I have been referred to another shop that thinks they can help me out. It's about 125 miles away and I plan to deliver it this week to see what they can do. I will be happy to report on my success - if I have any.
