I remember the ads you are talking about. This was the last series of the 2+2 made, just as IH was bought out. The story I heard was that a few (maybe 12 or so) were sold, but then the company tried to buy them back and scrap them out. The rumor is that one guy wouldn't sell his, and it's still out there somewhere. The difference with these tractors was the STS (Synchro Tri Six) transmission. I think they were 7388, 7588, and 7788.
