I'd get an idea from the machine shop as to how much work and money you're getting into fixing that thing. There have to be hundreds of M, SM, 400, and 450 blocks laying all over in your local salvage yards. I'd try to find a good useable block depending on the money you will spend. Overboring with a larger sleeve might work, but there are no guarantees either.
