Leonard: I had one Deere with wet disc brakes, power shift and remote valves and 4 IH with remotes. I quite regularly exchanged implement cylinders from one to the other. I gradually went to Hy guard in everything, but I didn't dump any HY tran to achive this. If I did change the oil in an IH system, I refilled with Hy guard.
As far as I'm concerned the Hy guard is a better oil for either system. I didn't have any IH system problems. What I did notice, using pure Hy guard compared to pure Hu tran, hydraulic cylinder rams got a nice gleam with Hy guard, even to the point you could identify someone in the reflection.
I'm betting more folks have used inferior oil by outside suppliers claiming their product is Hy tran specs. Had a guy do that to me once, claimed his oil was hy tran specs, and within 3 months I bought new hydraulic pumps for 300, 560 and 656. I used Hy guard in my Case Uniloaders as well.
