I honestly do not know. NAPA mounted mine free since I was having the head reworked and he asked me the correct position of the rod so he could point the notches towards the front of the tractor. If you don't have a piston ring compressor, Sears has a nifty one for a token amount of money. Pistons slid right into the sleeves like greased snot.
