Bob: The tag on the seat support is the official IH - ID. The same number being stamped on left side of transmission could be an owner applied stamp for security reasons. Not a bad idea as those tags could very easily be removed. If you followed it through on serial numbers at left very likely it is a 45 model. Sounds reasonable to me without looking, and knowing full well production was close to 20,000 units pre year in those days.
When you get to engine serial number, it may not be exactly the same. Most were, however production line didn't always get the engines in an order of sequence with tractor. If it's off by more than 2-3, someone has changed the engine since.
