This unit normally flashes 2 for hazard and 1 for turning, but also makes the non turning side glow steady. if you hook up a trailer/implement (it has a 7 pin round type socket on it) then you have more lights. i do not know how it makes a trailer behave, as nothing on our farm is that modern except a baler that we don't use with that tractor--which has seperate amber and red however vs the tractor having only amber.
it seems to flash faster in turn signal mode vs hazard. taken apart, it looks like mechanically the timing of the flash is changed.
