Thanks for all the suggestions ! I got the bearing off by beating it on an anvil . It took a few more than ten licks to get it off along with both gears and no damage to anything . Then it didn't take any time at all to knock the pilot race out with a punch . I picked up the new pilot bearing today from CIH and it didn't come with a snap ring but I have a used shaft I can take one off of . The inner race WILL have to be driven on . I didn't check the fit of the outer race but it should be OK since the old race was in there pretty tight . I had to use a 20 oz hammer on the punch since the 10 oz ball peen barely moved it . So everything is in good shape and ready to get cleaned and put back together as soon as the bearings get here next week . Thanks to all !! ...Randy
