A side comment on the three oil-level taps: The original idea was to drain down some of the oil that had been diluted by kerosene or distillate that had condensed in the cylinders. You were supposed to drain to the middle drain cock after every 10 hours of operation. The bottom drain cock is for the minimum level. With gasoline, this procedure is not necessary.
