Our 41 had a sawtooth from the time I can remember, but later changed to a friction, then a notch. You will probably find that most of them have been replaced 2 or 3 times in their life time, so unless you personally know the history of your tractor (mine was my fathers, and I learned to drive on it), it is only a guess as to what it had originally.
