Since you already noted where the gaps are, start looking to see if things are even. Measure from the radiator back to some point like an axle housing and see what you come up with. If the rad is out, then reset it as close to even as you can and then loosen the gas tank and set the hood on and line the hood up with the rad checking the gauge hole and grease zerk to make sure they are in line. Then work on the tank to get it in place. It takes time, but unless there was some bad damage before (and it didn"t look like it when you started) it should all go back in place. One thing out of whack like the rad will mess up the whole works! Remeber there are adjustments and or shimming to make front to back, side to side and up and down. One thing to check is the gas tank mounting. First time I had my tank unhooked to work on the rear end I put the mounts together wrong and the hood was way out of wack. (I had the springs on top of the mounts) As for the Tulare show, the guy I am getting the truck from says I can load it on the 18th or on the 20th so I may shoot for the 18th. When is your presentation going to happen? and is there a place to pitch a tent at the show grounds?
