It's been a while. I hope I'm telling you correct. To remove the PTO shaft, you have to take the PTO unit off the tractor. You will then see the gear mounted on the inside end of the PTO shaft that drives the shaft. As I recall, the shaft comes out to the outside, so you have to take the gear off first. Don't try to drive the shaft out after taking the gear retainer bolt out of the inside end of the shaft. The woodruff key that keys the gear to the shaft will catch on the bearing race and prevent the shaft from coming out. As I recall the gear is not a press fit on the shaft, so it's not difficult to get off, but a gear puller would be best. Once the shaft is out, the bearings and spacer should more or less just fall out. Then you can use something (I use a large socket of the correct diameter) to drive the old seal out.
