I finally found a replacement cable that worked, Where the cable enters the trans housing on M&W it goes through the top left mounting bolt, This bolt is tapt to accept the spiral winding on the outside of the cable and there is a compression ftg with the same thread on the inside as the outside of the cable. The head of the mounting bolt is tapt shallow allowing the ftg to serve as a lock as well as a seal, I finally found a generic truck pto cable at Napa that is the correct cable. The cable comes with a coating that needs to be pealed off where it goes in the bolt. I think it was about 45 bucks, I do remember I had to buy it prior to pealing off the end to measure it but lucky it was the right OD and thread.
