Carl, I'm pretty sure the Char-Lynn PS unit uses the hydraulic reservoir to hold it's fluid. Use Hy-Tran or equivalent in the hydraulic reservoir. The M's originally had a dipstick attached to the cap for the reservoir, but most of them are long gone. Bob M's suggestion works, but I like to fill mine by adding oil until the cylinders work properly and then add 1 more quart. That's worked ok so far for me. Once you get it full, you can make your own dipstick and just hang it in a convenient place on the tractor so it'll be there when you need it. Enjoy your M, Phil
