IH started installing cam gear 6760 DB on tractors in 1955, then the gear became the standard replacement part for all C-248, C264, and C-281 engines. Thats why all later printing of parts books show the same gear for M,SM,400 and 450. Some early printings of SM parts books show early SM using the same cam gear, 6760 D as most M tractors. Cam gear 6760 DA was used in at least part of the SM tractors and in SMTA has a thicker center than 6760 D.
