I'm to the point of putting my tires back on the tractor, but first I need new rubber. I checked with dealers in my town and was in shock at the quotes I received, almost $1,000.00 and then I still needed to sandblast and paint the rims!
I call a Les Schwab tire center in a neighboring town and was pleased with their prices and service. I can get Firestone tires (9.5 x 24 & 400 x 15) for under $750.00 (very close to Miller Tire's prices, but without the shipping cost). The really cool thing I learned is that for an additional $31.00 a rim, they will sandblast and powder coat my rims. I haven't seen the color chart yet, but they said that their silver color will probably be a close match to the factory galvanized coating.
