According to the Nebraska Test data I've seen, an M consumes approximately 1.2 gallons/hr under no load at 1450 rpm and around 3 gallons per hour under full load at 1450 rpm. An H burns 2.2 gallons per hour under full load at 1650 rpm and 0.9 gallons per hour under no load at 1650 rpm. So, if your driving at WOT in road gear, you are likely burning at least 1 gallon per hour with either tractor. Now, when you are idling along at half throttle or less, your fuel consumption is likely much lower.
