IH Red paint

When did they change IH red? Did they use a lighter red then go to a darker red, or vice/versa? I read in red power that when they went from gray to red, they used a color called
IH #50 motor truck red. I work at a parts store,
and I mixed some of this and it seems dark(more maroon). I just tore apart the headlights on a late H and the paint on the inside looks like the more popular lighter red(more orange). This would
have to be original paint and I doubt if it could have faded inside the light housing. This H is a 1952. Did they go to the lighter red before '52?
