I'm sorry I can't help you with the settings, but the ground speed is important.
I always planted with our 544 at a speed of around 4.5 mph and had a nice even crop of corn when it came up. Dad used the 1086 and went 5.5 mph and there were extensive skips and lots of double dropped seeds...
My theory is you need to give the brushes a reasonable chance to brush away all but one seed, and going too fast doesn't allow that - and sometimes hitting large bumps at speed can knock the seeds down and you get nothing. Just a theory based on my experience with our 400 6-row.
