I own a SMTA that had an aftermarket LP kit. The aftermarket LP tanks are different than the factory LP's. The aftermarket tanks set longways on the tractor while the factory LP's set crossway. Also, my serial tag gave no indication of it being a LP tractor. It has a 8574 DC head which as I understand would be suitable for LP and gas engines.
The real benefit of buying a LP tractor is that the engines are usually in good shape because LP is such a clean burning fuel.
I switched mine over to gas. Of course the LP hood was trash so you'll need to find a good SMTA hood if you switch to gas. . Good luck. Marv
